Low Key Date Night Ideas

Low Key Date Night Ideas Plus Size Fashion

In need of some inspiration to keep things spicy during lockdown? Granted, there hasn’t been a whole lot to do recently, meaning many of us have been lacking in date night ideas. If you and your partner are stuck for something fun to do, don’t worry, we got you.

Below, we have put together a list of cute, playful and hilarious date night ideas for you all. Each of these ideas are relatively low key, enjoyed from the comfort of your own home. Happy reading everybody!

Have a cocktail night

Oooh, yes. A cocktail night at home is right up our alley. The idea is for each of you to choose your own cocktail recipes and shake up a concoction (or three) for one another to enjoy. This keeps things interesting and romantic, as its an opportunity for your partner to prove how much they know about you and your favourite flavours!

All you need at home is a cocktail kit and appropriate glassware if you want it. Then, hop to the shops to pick up all your ingredients. Simple, effective, and gets a little boozy. We love this idea.

Build a pillow fort

Throw it back to when you were young by building your very own comfort-palace. Seriously, pillow forts should be enjoyed by all ages – don’t tell us otherwise! Pull together your mattress, covers, sheets and cushions, combining your furniture, tables and chairs as support. Whether you’re set up in the living room or bedroom, ensure you have room for a TV, too.

Then, if you’re extra like us, it’s time to get decorating! Pin up some fairy lights and set up some fake candles. Just a note: real candles are super dangerous if your fort falls down, so that’s a definite no-no. Maybe add a little tray table so you can snuggle up with dinner. Decorating together can be such a fun couple’s activity. After all, setting up is half the fun of this whole date idea, anyway!

Rug up under the stars

Does it get any more romantic than a touch of stargazing? We think not! If you have a backyard, utilise it. Get your picnic blanket, swags or sleeping bags (whatever you have handy) and set up outside for an unforgettable evening together. You can bring anything you like to add to the ambience. Think speakers, candles, snack plates and endless piles of pillows.

Play board games together

When was the last time you played a board game? While it might seem outdated with all of our new age technologies and devices, there is still value in an old-fashioned board game. Especially when it’s a date night at home. Invite your partner to stash away their phone with you as you both sit down to a game of Cluedo, Scrabble or Jenga. Or all three!
