Here’s our preview of key pieces on sale now (available evans.co.uk and Marble Arch) and coming soon throughout the season.
Designers showed a kaleidoscope of colour in their SS15 shows. DKNY’s mid-length skater dresses were poppy red, Burberry Prorsum let purple hues wash over entire looks and Michael Kors made fashion editors smile with sunshine yellow-infused outfits. Design Collective for Evans has a rainbow of colours at the heart of its collection. From pop brights, like canary yellow and cobalt blue, to this pretty perfect lilac lace dress by Hema Kaul, ideal for summer weddings and parties.
LET IT SHINE
Stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker wear Giles Deacon’s designs and we love his silk satin blouse for Evans. It ticks the metallic trend box with an easy-to-wear relaxed cut.
SMOOTH AS SILK
Designer Lulu Liu chose silk for this dress as she likes the way it drapes. “It’s a relaxed look, great for the beach or holiday,” she says. And it’s bang on the print trend, too.
Clements Ribeiro for the Design Collective have created beautiful pieces in power flower prints, cut to flatter shapely calves. It’s a silhouette that suits all shapes, especially Pear.
In spring, white is always a winner. Evans’ fresh pieces include this dress by Jamie Wei Huang (on sale mid May), which is a feminine take on the utility trend. Designers including Marc Jacobs love military-style details and the dress even has a tactical hip bag! This no-frills design also has clean lines and sharp pleats which show off expert tailoring. Cut low on the hip, the pleats with thigh-high slit draw the attention away from a fuller waist to more shapely legs, while the black shoulder straps draw the eye up and elongate your silhouette.
Sports luxe offers easygoing silhouettes and this Hema Kaul outfit is also great if you love colour blocking. The cobalt blue bralet sits a few inches under the bust, while the yoke-waisted trousers further hone your silhouette for a confident bodycon look. Team with a sporty shoe and take your place at the podium to win fashion gold.
‘Barely there’ is this season’s hottest trend. You can wear it your way, in many ways, because Design Collective has a wide range of pieces you can layer up or down. Pear shapes can reference both the sports luxe and sheer trend with this pale blue flared slip worn over an acid apple racer top. Also go sheer for spring with the Vita Gottlieb khaki dress. The sophisticated ribbon belt flatters your waist and cropped at the knee, it is subtle but sexy.
