The underband provides the main support in your bra. It should feel firm but with enough room to comfortably fit two fingers underneath. The underband should fit horizontally across your back, if it is riding up you may need a smaller back size.
The wires at the centre front of your bra should fit flat against your body. If the wires stand away from your body you may need a larger cup size.
The straps of your bra provide added support. Adjust your straps so that they sit securely and comfortably on your shoulders. Tighten the straps if you can lift them more than one inch off your shoulder. If the straps dig in to your shoulders, you may need a smaller back size.
If you are wearing a bra with an underwire, the underwire should not dig into the breast tissue of your underarm. If it does, you may need to try a larger cup size.
Ensure that your bust fits fully within the cups of your bra, leaving a nice smooth silhouette. If the bust spills over the cup you may need to try a larger cup size. If there is excess fabric or creasing you may need to try a smaller cup size.
