Just an hour’s drive from end to end, Lanzarote is a
small island with a ton of character.
From stunning golden beaches to towering black volcanos; it
created the perfect backdrop for our summer campaign. If you
are looking for a spring getaway with a difference, check out our
guide for the low down on where to go and what to do. Olé!
A number of low cost airlines fly from all UK airports
and the flight usually takes around 4 hours, which isn’t
too long for some sun, making Lanzarote not only an
affordable destination, but a super convenient one too!
For convenience the main tourist
areas Costa Tequise and Carman
offer beachside apartments and
hotels at reasonable prices.
How To Get There
Where To Stay
Wander around the cobbled old town of Teguise, a
perfect place to pick up some of the local Aloe Vera or
Honey Rum, and there is a great Sunday market for
more handicrafts. Or spend a day in the sun lazing on
the fine golden bays of Papagayo beach with the
beach café offering lovely food and ice cream. Be
warned it is a bit of a hike up and down to the sand!
Head to the twinkling lights of the Marina in Playa
Blanca for some cocktails and tapas, or drive through
Timanfaya national park and marvel at the alien
looking lava fields to the wild black beaches of El Golfo.
The black sand and volcanic rocks are breath-taking!
We had a fantastic meal in one of the local run fish
restaurants and sampled the local delicacies of salted
patatas bravas and squid-ink rice as black as the sand
(and much yummier than it sounds).
During The Day
In The Evening
Travel the wine route (with a designated
driver) stopping off at the numerous Bodegas
(that’s wine house to you and me), where you
can sample the amazing local wines grown
from the mineral rich volcanic earth.
