Design
The Design team identify and translate the latest trends into wearable fashion for the target customer.
Each designer has an area of responsibility and will work closely with their Buying team to ensure that they have the latest trends, the season's key items and ultimately the best value fashion on the high street.
Key Skills
Have you got what it takes for a career in Design?
The qualifications, experience and key skills required for a career in Design will vary according to the level of the position though generally you'll need:
- A strong commercial aptitude with an understanding of the high street.
- Innovation and a creative flair as well as an eye for identifying forthcoming trends.
- Capability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment.
- Excellent communication skills as well as presentation and influencing skills.
- The ability to influence and work with a variety of people as this will range from suppliers to the technical services, buying and management teams.
- Design background i.e. a design based degree and/or relevant experience.
- CAD literacy is preferable but not essential.
