TJ Larrichia, Visual Display Manager
"I've been working at Evans in my role as Visual Display manager for around 5 months. After working in display for 10 years I'm finding that this is my most challenging but rewarding role in my career.
Having started in the creative team in Evans I've had a chance to influence some key decisions within the store development and visual merchandising – Arcadia have a really strong development plan with lots of great courses tailored to my job and I'm currently looking at these to help progress myself in my role.
Evans is a great company to work for. There are some big changes being made in how we do things and how the business operates both at head office and in our stores. This means it feels like you are part of something fresh and new, but with the heritage of a company started in 1930. The best part of course is being part of a great team with loads of energy that has a real buzz to change the way our customer feels about herself and the way she shops . . .
Life as a Display manager can sometimes be a crazy one and managing lots of different projects at one time keeps things interesting. I can find myself managing windows, layouts, model store launch, developing mannequins and display. Communication is key working with the team in the field and the other people in the Creative department on everything from graphics and P.O.S, press events, new store openings and re-developing old stores, weekly and monthly floor layouts, store merchandising, store and fixture design, window schemes, developing concepts and so on - its a varied life that ensures the day to day never gets dull.
Overall its been a great introduction to a strong company with a bright past - and a brighter future . . .
