Gayle Jared, Senior Designer
After studying at Central Saint Martins 12 years ago I began my career working for a small French retailer, from there I moved to a large high street retailer and a luxury brand before joining the Arcadia Group four years ago. I have worked in the design team for four years, I started covering formalwear, my role has progressed to working on all trend and collaboration projects within the business, and I work closely with the Head of Design to create the right brand imagery from photo shoots to windows. We recently did a photo shoot with Rankin and have been nominated for an award at the Design Museum for our efforts.
Life within Arcadia can be challenging, hectic but also very rewarding. A major part of my job role involves liaising closely with the management teams to achieve the looks and key shapes for the up and coming seasons and the drive the fashionablity of the brand. The job also involves a lot of travel from Paris, Tokyo, India, LA and NYC visiting vintage shops and flea markets for inspiration. The most rewarding part of the job is seeing the product, from the original sketch, selling on the shop floor. Arcadia is a great company to work for, it gives you the support and opportunities to develop yourself, and is a great environment in which to work.
