Amelia - Buying Admin Assistant
"I studied Buying and Merchandising at the Fashion Retail Academy. Having previously completed work experience placements with Evans, I was lucky enough to get my first job in the Brand as a Buyers Admin Assistant when I finished my course.
My department includes several clothing categories, which has helped me develop a good understanding of lead times, product and fabrics. As a plus size retailer we try to create a range to include styles to fit and flatter our customer, and we have had lots of additional training, including body shape training, to ensure that we understand our customer and build the right range for her.
Working at Evans is a very enjoyable experience and all of the teams work well together and make sure that we’re always in high spirits. Each day is different, whether I have meetings to prepare for, sample management, garments to fit or critical path issues. I work with other members of the Evans team and with external suppliers every day and have found that good communication is key to a BAA role. Sometimes the job can be challenging but it is very rewarding when you see the great end product in store and on the customer."
